Illinoisans look to state representatives on how to help Syrian refugees

Illinois politicians, activists, and members of the community packed into a Chicago church Monday to learn about how Syrian refugees are being affected by President Trump’s recent executive order which bans certain migrants from entering the country.

The meeting, held at Concordia Lutheran Church, was the second in a series of events organized by Democratic state Reps. Ann Williams, Kelly Cassidy and Sara Feigenholtz, all of Chicago. The series is meant to educate the public about the ongoing refugee situation and to offer suggestions on how Illinoisans can help refugees settle.
