Former U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock indicted on 24 criminal counts

A federal grand jury has indicted former U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock on 24 criminal counts, including fraud, theft of government funds, filing false tax returns and making false statements.

The indictment, announced Thursday, alleges that from as early as 2008 until at least October 2015, Schock “engaged in a scheme to defraud the government, his campaign committees, and others for his direct personal benefit and for the benefit of others.”
