Illinois ranks among nation’s Top 5 best states for teachers

Illinois ranks among the best states to a be a teacher, according to a new report.

Citing good pay and a high level of job security, the personal finance website WalletHub ranked Illinois as the third-best state to teach in behind New Jersey and Massachusetts.

In addition to pay grades, teacher pensions, projected demand and student enrollment growth were among the indicators given the heaviest weight. Minnesota and Wyoming ranked behind the Land of Lincoln to the round out the list of the five best states for teachers.
