Illinois school superintendent sends warning letter to parents

Alice Cooper‘s lyrics, “school’s out for summer, school’s out forever,” may be the new slogan for some schools — especially downstate schools — due to the state budget impasse, according to a recent letter parents received from a central Illinois school superintendent.

Below you’ll find a letter from John Asplund, the superintendent for District #265 in Farmington. In the letter, Asplund warns community members of the repercussions of the state continuing its budget deadlock into Fiscal Year 2017 and urges them to contact their local lawmakers.
