Gates study little more than wish list for Illinois

Two weeks ago, the Gates Foundation released the results of a three-year study on teacher effectiveness and evaluation that brought great news to those who have long clamored for closer ties between student performance and teacher evaluations.

That would include those who worked tirelessly two years ago to bring a landmark set of education reforms to Illinois, including teacher and principal evaluation requirements linked to student performance.
